This component is a precision thermal management plate machined from solid AA-6063 aluminum—a material chosen for its excellent thermal conductivity and lightweight properties. The critical requirement? Selective powder coating with precision masking. The majority of the part receives a durable black powder coat finish, but multiple irregularly shaped areas must remain bare, exposed aluminum. These bare zones correspond exactly to the positions of various electronic components on the customer’s PCB assembly, requiring direct metal-to-component contact for both electrical conductivity and optimal heat transfer.
